Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares has recalled the Spanish ambassador in Tel Aviv, Ana María Solomon, for consultations in response to the "slanderous accusations against Spain and the "unacceptable measures" against Ministers Yolanda Díaz and Sira Rego.

This was reported by sources at the Ministry after Benjamin Netanyahu 's government responded to the package of measures to stop the "genocide" in Gaza announced by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, denouncing it as an attempt to "distract attention" from the corruption scandals and announcing sanctions against Díaz and Sira Rego.

Specifically, the government's minority partner has declared that he was not satisfied with the package of measures and demanded the withdrawal of the Spanish ambassador in Tel Aviv, thus signaling the severance of diplomatic relations with the Jewish nation.
